About Residential Services
The residential duplex group homes provide 24 hour support to adults with development disabilities. These homes are located on Addie Street and Burritt Street.
These homes are cooperative living environments with individualized support offered. These services assist adults in learning the necessary skills to live a more independent lifestyle and to fully participate as a valued member of their community.
Program Overview:
Services Provided at Addie Street Include:
- general household management and domestic skills;
- proper food preparation, storage and handling;\
- basic self-care and personal hygiene;
- money management;
- proper use of medication;
- general life skills enhancement;
- communication and interpersonal skills;
- recreational activities and hobbies;
- education of personal rights and self-advocacy skills
Community Supports Include:
- community travel;
- personal shopping;
- household grocery shopping;
- banking;
- medical appointments;
- social activities;
- recreational and leisure activities;
- job coaching
Specialized Programs Offered:
(under the direct supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist and Behaviour Communication Therapist)
- sensory integration
- physiotherapy
- individualized communication programs
- music therapy
