Overview of Family & Youth Services

Family Support Services

Family Support Services assists families who have a child/youth between the ages of 3 and 18 years old, or 21 if remaining in high school, and has a developmental disability diagnosis, to secure community supports that enable them to meet immediate, transitional, and future needs. Community Inclusion & Support Facilitators empower individuals and families to become effective self-advocates; provide case coordination and case management; assist in accessing appropriate funding avenues; engage in educational initiatives to promote inclusion; and support with exploring employment, volunteering, and recreation.

Children’s Respite Services

Children’s Respite Services is available to families who have a child or youth between the ages of 0 and 18 years old with varying needs, which may include a developmental disability and/or other complex special needs, including a physical disability. The Children’s Respite funding provides periods of relief for families and caregivers and offers children and youth increased opportunities for social, recreational, and life skills development. Children’s Respite Services are creative, flexible, and responsive to the diverse needs of the family.
